Evaluation.

When planning this product, i started off with different ideas to the one i ended up with. my original idea was to have four different shades of black girls to pose for my magazine cover. i wanted to do this as it embraces the main shades and also appeals to more people however, i didn't have enough time to do so and i was very limited to the people to do it for me so i decided to do it myself to save myself some time. this made it easier to edit and also give more time into trying out different layouts and last changes to the final product. although it was easy as i already ad an idea of what i wanted to do so as i went along i began to add new ideas.

taking my pictures was the easiest part of the production as, there was already natural lighting as well as the artificial one. this made my pictures bright for everyone to see clearly. the resolution for this image wasn't as clear as it could have been which made the image look blurry. i realised that maybe instead of using my iPhone camera, i should have used a DSLR camera to get good quality. as i had taken a variety of shots, i had a lot of images to choose from so as i was editing, i was able to play around with the images to see which best suited the background.

I considered other existing magazines that carry out the same purpose my magazine does. i looked at some of them and they were able to give me inspiration to come up with cover lines for my magazine front cover to make it seem real.

The strengths of this was that i was able to produce the magazine exactly how i wanted it although i would say that my weaknesses were the camera resolution and i feel that if i used a better camera, the magazine could have looked better as i don't think my finished product reflects my ability to make a magazine cover.

the camera support was my arm and i feel like i did a good job at holding the camera still. the lighting worked out perfectly and helped me to make my image clear. i took out the background of my image as it was a colour that wasn't part of my colour scheme, although because of my hair, some of it was still visible.

Finished product - magazine cover.

Planning Sheet.

Magazine front Cover.

The subject of the magazine shoot is black beauty. the aim of this is to make ethnic minorities appreciate their features more.

Available resources i have to do this shoot consist of a camera from the technicians although i will be using my iPhone 6 camera to be taking my image. Because of this i won't need to book anything and i will be removing the background of my image so i won't need to book the photography studio.

As i am producing a magazine cover i know that my content has to match the requirements of the Advertising Standards Association (ASA). i will make sure all content is appropriate for all age groups and to not mislead the target audience in any way.

i will take my picture against any plain background and take out the background later when editing as i already have a background for my magazine cover. As a light source, i will be using my iPhone 6 selfie case which lights up your face so you can take a nice photo with natural light from outside to balance the lighting making it look natural. my photo will be taken at mid shot, eye level so the target audience focus on my face.

Risk Assessment
i need to make sure that i do not harm my self or anyone else during the production of this media product and also wit the end result.

i should not shine the light directly into my eyes as it may cause long lasting effects. i am to also use appropriate images for this shoot so it follows all regards from the ASA and doesn't go against any of their rules and regulations.

PHOTOGRAPHY 2 - TASK 1A

Magazine front Cover.
I want to take pictures presenting Black beauty to the world. My images will consist of 3 females all different shades of black posing together. The purpose of this is to embrace ethnic minorities especially black people to make them realise we are all one and they shouldn't feel insecure about themselves.

It is also to inform people that it is okay to be the way they are no matter what shade of black they are or background they come from. This will be targeted to young people as they are still growing up and learning new things so they are easily influenced to do wrong and have racist or negative thoughts. as there are many stereotypes about the ethnical community, I want to address these and make people understand. I want to appeal to young people so they don't grow up being racist and have respect for everyone whatever race they are. The image will be put on a magazine front cover to encourage acceptance of ethnic minorities.

The purpose of my image should embraces the beauty of being an ethnic minority and can make people feel better about them selves.

Available resources i have to do this shoot consist of a camera from the technicians although i will be using my iPhone 6 camera to be taking my image. Because of this i won't need to book anything and i will be removing the background of my image so i won't need to book the photography studio. as i light source, i will be using my iPhone 6 selfie case which lights up your face so you can take a nice photo.

For this magazine cover, i will be modelling myself. This is as i am also a ethnic minority and i want to speed things up so depending another person to model may slow things down.

Introduction To Photography

What I like about photography.

I like that we are able to explore and have a choice of what type of genre we want to base our pictures. I want to take pictures based on the fashion category (Modelling). I also want to be able to take pictures and change the effects and edit them.

Related image
I like this picture because It is a picture of Rihanna and I like her. I also like what she is wearing and the way she has her hair.  She is posing for a picture with confidence. The picture also looks very professional which appeals to me as I want to be able to take pictures to this standard.

I like this picture because eis embraces the beauty of being an ethnic minortiy and can make people feel better abput them selves. I also like it because it shows different shades of black and they all look good.

This picture caught my eye because I like the way that the camera angle used is high so that we can see the hair and the motion it is going in. I also like the lighting used which makes the hair the main part of the picture.

The main thing I like about this picture is the fact that it is a close up so we can focus on the makeup. I like the lighting also because it makes the photo more clear.
