Serial season 1 episode 1

  • Music
The purpose of this is to introduce the podcast while setting the mood. The mood that is trying to be set is a soft mood. This is so that the audience are calm and ready to listen to the rest of the podcast. It is softly in the background to add body to the podcast although it isn’t supposed to take the listeners attention from what the speaker in the podcast is saying.

  • Dialogue
The dialogue is the main part and the most important part of the podcast. Most of the podcast consists of dialogue. As we listen to this we are supposed to be informed about the day leading up to the event and all the facts that have already been established about the events that had taken place. The dialogue is at first meant to create a calm mood where the audience have tuned into the podcast and are listening. Later on the events described by the narrator are to have an effect on the audience making them feel surprised and feel tragic. they then feel intrigued and want to find out more.
