JOURNALISM 1 - TASK 1A

Most of these digitally published products have the purpose to either entertain or inform the public about topics such as news, gossip etc. E magazines, newspapers and books have the same role as printed versions although they have been put online to give the readers more way to access these as a lot of these platforms are free which also makes it a more popular way to view these platforms. Text is the most important part of these products as they the text is what the public take in. as adverts can also be put in these platforms as they may have a wider audience. Flyers and leaflets are usually to give people brief information about a topic on a small amount of space. This usually has the most important information put on and they can be printed out and handed to people so they can see it and look at it whenever they need to. As in the 21st century, technology has advanced a lot and most people use their devices to complete tasks that they wouldn’t usually do so, having interactive digital publishing products could be the most effective way in completing its purpose. As a whole all of these digital published products are available on devices. DVDs and CD covers are there just to inform people what they contain. These have similar purposes to flyers or leaflets in terms of giving brief information about the product/event.

  1. Good Dorcas - very descriptive.
Mindmap > 2A.P1 (Pass) You have described the uses of the digitally published products (U5)
You need to have specific examples, platforms and devices (how they are accessed) - this will push up to distinction level.

Report > 2A.M1 (Merit) You have explained the purpose of writing in different examples of digital media products from different sectors. (U14)
To push to distinction you need to use specific examples when exploring digitally published products and their purpose > distinction level would be closer to 500 word mark.
